Alexander Cartwright Creates The First Box Score

October 22, 1845
The first known box score appears in the New York Morning News a month after the first set of rules are written by Alexander Cartwright the true founder of baseball and some his fellow Knickerbockers. *Please note that there are many different opinions on this date but it did happen within the month of October.
